Starting in Cape Town City Centre, head towards Sea Point and take a scenic drive along Victoria Road, past Clifton, Camps Bay and Llundudno. Follow Victoria Road passed Suikerbossie, towards Hout Bay. Enjoy a walk on the beach and some local sea food from Mariner's Warf, or a stroll around the Hout Bay Market (Sundays only).
Drive over the picturesque Chapman's Peak Drive into Noordhoek. Stop to admire the breathtaking views on Chapman's Peak of Hout Bay. As you come off Chappie's and into Noordhoek, turn right down to the unbelievably long, white Noordhoek beach. After a walk on the beach stop to admire the local art at Noordhoek farm village and perhaps grab a light lunch at Cafe Roux which is also very child friendly.
After lunch, continue through Kommetjie to Scarborough and the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Here's you'll find a huge selection of local artifacts (statues, heads, jewellery and furniture) on sale by the roadside. At Cape Point take the short walk (or venicular) up to the look out post, and admire Cape Town's southern most point. Observe and admire, but do not feed the baboons, of which there are many in this area.
Continuing in the same direction you'll enter the picturesque naval village of Simon's Town where you can explore the Penguin Colony at Boulder's Beach, the naval museum or just take in the local flavour.
Stop briefly at Kalk Bay to watch the seals cavorting in the harbour (and pick up some fresh yellowtail for dinner). If you're thirsty, the Brass Bell Pub is a local favourite and the Harbour House has terrific views and great seafood cuisine. Drive home via Boyes Drive where the views of Muizenburg are breathtaking.
